What's New
⚠ Work in progress. This manual is still being written — some
sections may be incomplete or change as the app evolves.
What each version of Ro Flight brought, newest first. Both stores update the app automatically; to check what you are running, look at Ro Flight in your device's app store.
Version 1.0.5 — 5 September 2026
- Record your flights. Tap Start Flight on the Go Fly map and Ro Flight saves the track of the flight on this device — where you went, how fast and how high. Tap End Flight when you are down, or let it close itself once the aircraft has been standing still for a while.
- Flight Log, a new entry in the menu. Every recording you have kept, with its date, how long it lasted and how much room it takes, and the controls to delete one or all of them.
- A report for each flight. Tap a row in the Flight Log for distance flown, the furthest point from departure, maximum GPS altitude, maximum and average ground speed, and the best sustained climb — and add a note of your own, for what the numbers do not say. This is the first version of the report; more statistics are on the way.
- Recording stays on your device, and you can switch it off entirely under Settings → Pilot → Preferences. Nothing is sent anywhere; a recording leaves the phone only if you share or export it yourself. Preferences →
- Export your flight history from the Data page, as a zip of spreadsheet tables — one folder per flight. It is deliberately not part of the ordinary backup file. The Data page →
- Takeoff speed on your aircraft profile, under Settings → Aircraft, so Ro Flight knows when your aircraft has left the ground. Aircraft profile →
- A steadier climb and descent readout. V/S is now measured over a rolling window instead of from one second to the next, so it holds a firm 0 on the ground and settles instead of jumping. The instrument strip →
- Fixed: adding an intermediate waypoint to a flight that departs from and returns to the same airfield no longer discards the waypoint.
Version 1.0.4 — 23 August 2026
- Airspace alerts on the in-flight map. A chime, a banner and the zone outlined on the map warn you before you fly into an active Prohibited, Restricted, Danger, CTR or NOTAM area — amber while you are approaching, red once you are inside. How airspace alerts work →
- Choose how far ahead you are warned — 1 to 4 minutes, under Settings → Pilot → Preferences. Preferences →
- Track up. The in-flight map turns so the way you are going is always toward the top of the screen, instead of north. Track up →
- On the website: the full video tutorial in eleven chapters, and an updated manual. Watch the tutorial →
Version 1.0.3 — 19 August 2026
- Create your account straight from the app, without going to the website first. Creating an account →
- Delete your account from the Data page, if you ever want to leave. Delete account →
- Sign Out from the flyout menu. Signing out →
